Ceramic Coralline Purple Coral Frag Plugs — 100-Pack with Glue
Product description
This pack contains 100 ceramic frag plugs finished in a coralline-inspired purple tone, plus a small tube of aquarium-safe cyanoacrylate adhesive for immediate mounting.
Each plug is molded from dense ceramic with a ridged, slightly dished top to help glue bond to the coral base. The head diameter matches common 12mm frag standards, making these compatible with most 12mm rack holes; an 11mm hole can be snug on some pieces. The molded stem is intended to slot into frag racks or be glued into rockwork when final placement is decided.
In use you attach a small dab of the provided adhesive to the plug top, seat the frag piece onto it, and allow the glue to set before returning the plug to a rack or placing it against live rock. Some aquarists prefer to snap or cut the stem when remounting to natural rock — note that due to the ceramic density, some stems may resist simple clipping and can require tools or a saw to remove cleanly.
Pros
- Large 100-piece supply with adhesive included
- Textured, coralline-style ceramic top for good glue hold
- Head diameter fits standard 12mm frag racks
Cons
- A few units may arrive with broken stems
- Stems can be very dense and hard to trim or snap
- Color tone may vary from expectation
VerdictThese ceramic frag plugs offer a large quantity and attractive coralline finish that grips glue and holds frags securely in many setups. They suit hobbyists who use 12mm-style racks and want a textured surface for quick mounting. Be aware some plugs arrived with damaged stems, and several reviewers found the stems difficult to cut or snap when remounting — if you routinely trim stems, expect a mix

Stem length and retention issues
Stems felt much shorter than expected and don’t stay put in my rack under light flow. They pop out easily — I’d avoid these if your setup moves frags around.

Too tough to trim
These work fine until you need to cut the stem. I tried cutting to remount to rock and couldn’t do it without a saw. Won’t be buying these again for that reason.

Dense ceramic, trapping air
Stems are too thick to clip with coral cutters and the ceramic trapped pockets of air even after soaking. That made gluing and seating trickier than expected.

Economical and functional
I go through plugs regularly; these do the job with nothing fancy. The purple finish is slightly off from my other pieces but acceptable. Glue was included and usable.

Impossible to snap or clip
Everything about these plugs is great except you can’t remove the stem the way I normally do. Bone cutters, a rotary tool and other attempts failed. Frustrating since otherwise they’re ideal.

Arrived quickly and works
Delivered earlier than estimated. Glue adheres well and frags hold steady once mounted.

Good fit for racks, some arrived damaged
I like the textured top and the slightly concave cup. If you 3D-print racks, drill for 12mm holes — 11mm can be tight. From my first 100, six stems were snapped and one was shattered in the bag; each break matched its head so I reattached them with the included glue. A second set is on the way.

No problems breaking the stem
I was hesitant after other comments but had no trouble snapping the stem off when needed. Ready to start mounting corals.

Solid quantity, color optional
Good value for the number supplied. I didn’t need the purple finish, but the plugs themselves function as expected.
