Alaska Bear Mulberry Silk Sleep Mask with Dual Straps and Nose Flap
Product description
What you get: one mulberry silk sleep mask and a light mesh storage pouch to keep it neat during travel or in a drawer.
Materials and build: The outer shell and the part that contacts skin are made from mulberry silk for a smooth, breathable surface. Inside there’s soft padding that keeps the mask from pressing directly on the eyelids. The mask uses two thin elastic headbands — one that runs above the ears and one below — each with small adjustable clasps so you can modify the tension and position. A stitched nose flap extends along the lower edge; it’s designed to be folded under the nose area to help seal out stray light.
How it fits and is used: The twin-strap arrangement spreads tension away from the eye area, reducing pressure on the eyeballs compared with single-band styles. The silk face is beneficial for people who use eye creams or moisturizers because the fabric doesn’t readily absorb lotions. Suitable for side and stomach sleepers, people with insomnia, migraine sufferers, and those with dry-eye issues due to silk’s breathability. Care: hand wash gently in cool water with shampoo or a mild detergent, or machine wash on a delicate cycle inside a laundry bag.
Additional notes: The straps are thin and meant to be discrete, and the clasps are small, similar to lingerie adjusters, so they’re unobtrusive while worn. The mask aims to block light completely when the nose flap is positioned correctly, but exact fit depends on face shape.

While some users note a slightly heavier feel or strap movement for particular head shapes, most find the con

Good materials but a bit heavy for me
Quality feels solid and the silk is smooth. Adjustable straps help with fit. However, it felt heavier than I anticipated and after a while I noticed some pressure around my eye sockets and forehead. Light blocking is good, but the weight reduced comfort for full-night use so I’m giving it three stars.

Effective light blocking and stays put
Does everything I expect: it stays on thanks to the two straps, blocks out light well, and is very soft. It’s washable and the colored versions also include the small nose flap even if not obvious in photos. Performs reliably night after night.

Silky feel and gentle on the eyes
The mulberry silk is very soft and the dual-strap setup cuts down pressure on the eyeballs because the mask itself is fairly flat. It stays put for the most part. The nose flap helps minimize light intrusion, though with my medium-sized nose a tiny amount still slips through. Overall, a clear improvement over other masks I’ve tried.

Well built and adjustable — travel friendly
Picked this up after a writer recommendation and it didn’t disappoint. The coverage is good, including a lower flap that helps block light at the nose. The two adjustable straps are the highlight — rare to find both straps adjustable and they keep the mask comfortable without pressing on the eyes. It also arrives with a light mesh pouch so it isn’t just loose in luggage. True black color and no scratchy fasteners to disturb sleep.

Could improve strap stability
The small adjusters tend to slide and require readjusting during the night. Because of that the mask can shift and let in slivers of light. Otherwise the mask is okay, but I believe sturdier buckles would make it much better.

Very soft; altered for my ideal fit
I got the dual-strap model with the nose baffle. The fabric is extremely soft and comfortable. I actually removed the lower strap to suit my preference — with the top strap positioned right it stays put without feeling tight. The clasps are small but sturdy; mine showed no signs of breaking. Overall very comfortable for my routine.

Helped protect sensitive, post-surgery eyes
Worked exactly as I needed after corneal transplants and other eye procedures. The mask prevents me from rubbing my eyes on bedding and keeps medicated gel from smearing onto pillows. It also shields my eyes from sudden light changes. If you have delicate corneas or conditions like Fuchs’ dystrophy, this fills a useful niche.

Significantly reduced my light-related wakeups
Light sleeper with insomnia here — this mask changed my mornings. It feels lightweight and silky in hand and provides complete blackout even with bright morning sun. It covers from forehead to lower cheeks and I no longer wake to stray light, which helps me get back to sleep more easily.

Stays on during restless nights
Comfortable and holds position even when I toss around. The double-strap feature is genuinely effective at preventing the mask from shifting; occasionally the top strap will ride up but the lower one stays in place. The strap adjusters are small and unobtrusive — I don’t notice them while wearing. Four stars because I think perfection may still be out there, but this is very close.
