POC Cularis Mountain Bike Helmet — Lightweight Ventilated MIPS MTB Helmet
Product description
Designed specifically for mountain biking, the Cularis covers everything from flow trails to enduro stages. The package centers on the helmet itself with an adjustable visor, a rear goggle clip and a magnetic Fidlock buckle for fast, secure closure. The peak is engineered to break away on impact to help reduce neck loading in a crash.
The construction uses a unibody polycarbonate outer shell bonded to a reinforced EPS liner, with aramid bridge reinforcements to improve structural integrity while keeping overall mass low. An integrated MIPS brain protection system offers additional rotational-impact mitigation. Internal airflow channels and large vents maintain cooling during long, hot rides while a 360° micro-adjust dial lets you tailor the fit.
Available in Small, Medium and Large size ranges to match common head circumferences (typical market fits: S ~52–56 cm, M ~55–58 cm, L ~58–62 cm), the helmet's cut extends coverage around the temples and the back of the head. It’s intended to be used with goggles or glasses on trail days, and the venting, retention system and lightweight shell make it suitable for full days on the bike.
Pros
- Integrated MIPS for added rotational protection
- Excellent ventilation for long rides
- Breakaway visor and reinforced unibody shell
Cons
- Fit can be narrow at the temples for some head shapes
- Heavier-feeling than some comparable lids
- Limited in-between sizing for those on the cusp
VerdictThe Cularis is aimed at riders who want increased coverage without sacrificing ventilation or day‑long comfort. It combines a unibody polycarbonate shell, reinforced EPS and aramid bridge supports with an internal MIPS layer and a 360° fit system. Fit varies by head shape — some will love the snug temple coverage, others may find themselves between sizes — but protection, airflow and practical tou

Magnet buckle is very handy
Good build quality and a fun colorway. The magnetic clip really simplifies fastening and unfastening on the trail.

Good ventilation, love the magnetic clasp
Feels like a solid helmet: comfortable fit, strong airflow and the Fidlock magnetic fastener is a great convenience.

Wanted extra coverage — mixed sizing results
I ordered two Cularis helmets: one for my 8‑year‑old and one for me, replacing older convertible helmets. I wanted more rear and temple coverage while keeping breathability and low weight. My daughter’s Medium fits her rounded head shape well. For me, fit depends on head shape — I’ll likely move to a dedicated full‑face for certain riding but kept this for trail days.

Great fit for road and good ventilation
Really comfortable and a great fit. My favorite helmet for road-to-cross rides so far. Venting is very effective and the visor adjustment works well.

Comfortable and attention-grabbing
Super comfortable and simple to adjust. Strapping it on is quick and the magnetic buckle is handy. I’ve had people comment on how it looks — feels secure and sharp.

Noticeably heavier than some rivals
This helmet feels heavier than several others I own; that stood out on long climbs.

High quality but sizing could be finer
Excellent build and modern tech, but the Medium pinched my temples and dug in. I was between sizes — Large was too loose. Wish there was an intermediate fit option. It scores well in helmet ratings, though.

Comfortable with strong safety results
Very comfortable, light on the head and easy to dial in. The high marks from independent safety ratings are reassuring, and it looks modern too.

Solid protection — survived a hard crash
My second POC. The previous one took a heavy impact and protected my head. I appreciate the fit, the safety features and the airflow on hot days.

Not worth full price in my view
I expected a bigger leap over my decade‑old helmet. The finish and feel don’t feel dramatically superior. I picked one up when it was discounted and will see if my opinion changes after more miles.

Great protection but didn’t suit my head
Highly regarded by safety testers, but it didn’t fit my 59–60 cm head — right between Medium and Large. The retention lines also rubbed behind my ears. I returned it for a different model that matched my shape better.
