Magene C606 V2 GPS Bike Computer — 2.8" Color Touchscreen Cycling Computer
Product description
Overview
The Magene C606 V2 is a wireless GPS cycling computer built around a 2.8-inch color TFT touchscreen that’s designed for riders who want advanced navigation, performance metrics and training features in a compact package. The unit supports multi-source route planning — import GPX files, use past rides or send destinations from the companion app — and can handle single routes up to 1,000 km. Two on-device rerouting strategies and a one-tap Back-to-Start function give flexible guidance when plans change.
Climb planning & segments
Its Multi-Scenario climb planner automatically finds and engages climbs mid-ride, showing live gradient, remaining distance, elevation gain and a grade/elevation profile. Two configurable fields let you present targeted data for pacing and energy management. Full Strava Live Segments integration displays segments on both map and list, auto-syncs starred segments over Wi‑Fi, issues approach alerts and supports live head-to-head PK-style displays on a customizable dashboard.
Power, pedaling analysis & sensors
When paired with compatible power meters (examples: Magene P715, Rally, Favero Assioma), the device unlocks Cycling Dynamics metrics such as power phase, seated vs. standing time and platform center offset to help refine pedaling technique. It supports ANT+ and Bluetooth sensors across multiple device types for heart rate, cadence, speed, power and lights.
Navigation, training & camera control
The unit operates offline for reliable navigation, but also supports online rerouting when connected. Indoor training features let you replay outdoor FIT routes on smart trainers, import TrainingPeaks workouts and control compatible trainers directly from the head unit with dual power-source switching. One-tap wireless camera control gives hands-free operation of DJI Action and Insta360 cameras with on-screen battery and storage status.
Hardware & reliability
The touchscreen is a responsive TFT panel designed for quick glances while riding. Battery life is rated at roughly 15–25 hours depending on settings and sensors. The device carries an IPX7 water-resistance rating and uses a replaceable quarter-turn mount system. The package includes a pre-installed TPU protective case and a tempered glass screen protector for everyday protection.

Great display but screen sleeps during rides
The screen looks bright and sharp when active, but it turns off after the ride starts. You need to press a button to wake it, so you won’t see live stats constantly like on some other head units. Not ideal if you prefer always-on visibility.

Erratic speed readings after a month
Speed readings began jumping wildly after about a month — tried changing the battery and swapping sensors with no luck. At higher speeds it jumps all over the place, especially on bridges. Performance went from usable to unusable.

Frequent disconnects and inconsistent readings
I’ve had recurring connectivity problems: the device drops links to the app and sometimes loses my account pairing, forcing repeated re-pairing. The radar light feature hasn’t worked reliably, and a few logged metrics seem off. For a bike computer, dependable connections are essential, and this unit hasn’t met that standard for me. I’d opt to spend more for a more dependable brand.

Better than expected after a little tweaking
Nice piece of kit. I had to adapt a mount I already owned but after that it fitted perfectly. Easy to navigate and most info fits on a single screen.

A promising alternative to my usual unit
I switched from a long-used competing brand and this unit impressed me. It pairs fine with my heart strap and power meter, and the display offers many data layout choices. I don’t use preloaded courses often so I haven’t tested navigation extensively. Battery lasts through a century ride but doesn’t match my previous device’s endurance. One annoyance: you can’t tweak many settings mid-ride without stopping and restarting the activity. Once configured it runs well and seems worth the savings; durability compared to my old unit remains to be seen.
