Legrand Radiant Wi‑Fi Matter Smart Dimmer Light Switch — White (1 Pack)
Product description
What’s in the box: one white Radiant Matter Smart LED dimmer (1‑pack), a pair of mounting screws, and a quick‑start wiring guide. The unit is built to replace a standard single‑gang Decora switch or outlet assembly and fits common wall boxes.
Construction and size: the face is a smooth white thermoplastic with a low‑profile, flat aesthetic; the internal mounting strap is metal for secure installation. The dimmer uses a standard Decora footprint so it snaps into existing trim and faceplates designed for single‑gang switches.
Electrical and network requirements: this model needs a neutral wire at the switch location and is designed to substitute an existing outlet or switch—one controlled outlet circuit can be set to Wi‑Fi control while a secondary outlet (where applicable) remains continuously powered. A Matter‑compatible hub is required to complete setup and for the device to appear in your chosen smart home ecosystem. After onboarding, the dimmer uses your home’s 2.4GHz WPA2 Wi‑Fi for routine communication.
Compatibility and function: the dimmer supports Matter, enabling use with platforms such as HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings that offer Matter support. It provides smooth dimming for LEDs, the ability to create scenes and schedules, and unified downstream outlet management so linked receptacles behave coherently. The device includes a small status LED and standard wiring terminals for line, load, neutral, and ground.
Usage notes: install in a standard single‑gang box, confirm neutral availability prior to purchase, and reserve a stable 2.4GHz network for initial provisioning and regular operation. For homes using multiple smart products, a Matter hub simplifies onboarding and centralizes control.
Pros
- Matter interoperability across major smart platforms
- Refined, low‑profile Decora styling and solid construction
- Supports scenes, schedules, and downstream outlet grouping
Cons
- Requires a Matter hub and a neutral wire to install
- Some users report occasional connectivity or reachability loss
- Small status LED cannot be disabled
VerdictThis Radiant dimmer delivers a refined appearance, reliable local control once configured, and broad Matter compatibility for integration with HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, and other hubs. Installation expects a neutral conductor and a standard single‑gang box; a Matter hub is needed to onboard the device. Performance is generally solid, though some users report intermittent remote reachability and

Solid performance — add an LED toggle option
Function and feel are good: reliable toggling and dimming. My only gripe is the tiny white status LED stays lit when the switch is off; it’s dim but shows in a dark room. I’d like an option to turn that indicator off or have it mirror switch state.

Integrates flawlessly with Home Assistant
I added these to my Home Assistant setup and paired them over Matter on a dedicated 2.4GHz SSID. They’ve been rock solid with no drops, so I ordered another. One tip: when ordering, uncheck any option that auto‑links to Alexa if you plan to use another controller; otherwise it may be claimed by voice services during first power up.

Well made hardware, but intermittent reachability
The switches feel premium and installation was simple. I set them up via the Echo app with the QR code and they behaved well. Still, about once a month the hub reports them unreachable even though the device shows a strong 2.4GHz signal in my router. I even upgraded my Matter hub but the problem persisted.

Simple setup and HomeKit pairing
Setup was hassle‑free and no separate app was required. I moved from another brand after support ended and this linked straight to Apple Home via the QR code without issues.

Looks great but loses remote control nightly
These switches are attractive and installed easily into my remodel. They paired with Apple Home, but each night they drop from the app even though Wi‑Fi seems present. Locally they still work, but remote app control fails, so I’m hesitant to replace all my switches until that’s resolved.

Good switch but check box depth
The mechanism sits deep in the wall, so plan for a deeper electrical box if your wiring bundle is large. Aside from that, it functions exactly as expected.

Needs steady Wi‑Fi to pair, then performs well
Make sure your Wi‑Fi is stable during provisioning — once configured these work nicely with Google Home and other Legrand devices. They also look clean on the wall.
