Digital Crane Hanging Scale — Heavy-Duty 2200 lb (1000 kg)
Product description
Designed for suspended weighing, this digital crane scale handles loads from about 20 lb (≈9 kg) up to 2200 lb (1000 kg) and reports results with roughly 0.5 lb resolution. The unit includes the scale itself, a handheld remote for operation at distances up to roughly 5 meters, and batteries so it's ready for immediate use.
The enclosure is made from cast aluminum for strength and corrosion resistance; it’s built to withstand typical outdoor conditions within an operating range from −10°C to 40°C. The mechanics are intended for use with hooks, slings, chains or other lifting gear and the scale is commonly employed for weighing hay bales, logs, game, livestock gross weights and load testing of rigging.
A peak-hold feature captures and locks the maximum weight reading — handy when testing ropes, chains or when the load swings. The display is a bright LED module with five digits and 25 mm character height for rapid reading in many lighting conditions.
Operation is straightforward: attach the load to the lower hook or shackle, raise the load until stable, then read the display or use the remote to record or tare as needed. Units can be switched between standard weight measurements to suit your application.
Note that while the LED is bright, extreme direct sunlight can reduce readability unless shaded. Also, heavy repeated use and rough handling have been reported to loosen the back plate fasteners on some units; securing those screws may be prudent for extended heavy-duty cycles.
Pros
- Solid cast-aluminum housing resists corrosion
- Accurate readings with peak-hold and remote control
- Bright 5-digit LED display with included batteries
Cons
- LED can be hard to read in bright sun without a shade
- Reports of back-plate screws loosening under heavy repeated use
- Operating temperature limited to −10°C to 40°C
VerdictA robust hanging scale that delivers reliable readings for farm, hunting, and light industrial tasks. The cast-aluminum body and feature set (remote, peak-hold, clear LED digits) make it versatile and convenient. Watch for display legibility in bright sunlight and some reports of back-plate fasteners loosening after heavy repeated use.

Does the job for hay bales; display struggles in sun
I use this to weigh hay bales occasionally and it performs well. The readout becomes difficult to see in bright outdoor light unless you shade the screen. I checked calibration with a precisely filled water tank and it was about 30 lb off at ~1700 lb, which suits my needs. Would buy again.

Does its job with clear display
Performs as expected and the visibility of the digits is good in most conditions.

Hardware issue after heavy cycles, but readings stayed accurate
After about ten lifts of ~1500 lb the screws holding the back plate loosened and one went missing, causing the back to warp and crack the outer housing. Threadlocker would help. When rechecked on a commercial scale, the weight readings matched well.

Good value and ready to use
Tested it on an item just above 500 lb and it read accurately. Came with batteries included so it was ready right out of the box. Nice feature set for the cost.

Works great — precise across ranges
Accuracy is solid; I even used it as a luggage scale and it held up. Performance is good at lower weights too, and switching between N, kg and lb is simple.

Solid replacement — reliable for medium logs and game
Bought to replace a stolen unit and it's been dependable. Weighs medium-sized logs for loading and handles wild game and cattle gross weights with good accuracy. A bit more capacity than needed for some jobs but so far no issues; I’d recommend it.

Accurate for hunting use
Works very well for weighing deer in the field. Neighbors borrow it because it’s dependable and straightforward to use.
