Heavy-Duty Slow-Feed Hay Bag for Horses with Full Back Zipper
Product description
Built from Heavy-Duty Materials
Made of 1680D Oxford fabric with reinforced stitching and durable hardware, this hay bag is constructed to withstand regular use by horses, goats, sheep and other livestock. The fabric resists tearing and the seams are reinforced to handle pulling and rough conditions.
Easy Filling and Multiple Hanging Options
The bag includes a full back zipper and a wide-mouth opening for fast, clean loading — the zipper lets you slide in full flakes without fuss. An adjustable nylon strap with metal clip allows secure attachment to fences, trailers, stall bars or run-in dividers. A secondary bottom attachment point or strap helps prevent the bag from spinning when hung vertically or can be used to hang the bag horizontally.
Designed to Slow Intake and Reduce Waste
This ground-style hay bag mimics a grazing posture, encouraging animals to take smaller mouthfuls and spend more time eating. The larger interior holds several large flakes (roughly four to five from a typical square-bale flake), reducing the need for constant refills and keeping feeding areas neater. By limiting loose scattering, it lowers hay waste and supports more natural eating patterns.
Versatile Use Across Settings
Appropriate for stalls, pastures, travel or shows, the bag works for horses as well as goats, sheep, cows and donkeys. Its heavy construction and thoughtful hanging options make it a practical choice for daily feeding or temporary setups while traveling or at events.
Safety and Practical Notes
Because of the lower strap and roomy design, secure the bottom attachment when hanging vertically to avoid a hoof or leg entering the opening. Alternatively, hang it horizontally using both ends to eliminate that risk. While robust for many animals, those with very large draft horses may require an even heavier-duty option.

Very convenient to fill and hang
I wouldn’t call it the slowest feeder, but it’s slower than center-cut nets and great for a pony that needs consistent access. The full back zipper makes loading simple and it fits about four to five large square-bale flakes. The flat shape and straps let me hang it from bolts, divider bars or different anchor points. Stitching and materials feel solid — exactly what we needed for an outside pony.

Does what it claims. Sturdy feel and my horse uses it readily.

Started breaking in just a few hours
I bought this hoping for a larger version of another bag I love. With my sheep it began to fail in under three hours: pieces of the net detached and the mesh wasn’t well secured to the body. My previous, smaller bag held up for a year through all seasons, so seeing this fall apart so quickly makes me hesitant to trust it.

Not for my draft horse
I have a draft, and this just doesn’t hold up to that strength.

Huge, handy, but holes let feed come out quicker
This is a massive bag that works well hung low in a stall or on the ground. Heavy-duty materials, but the openings are large so my horses pull hay faster than with woven nets — less mess, not much slowing. Holds a lot at once and has extra straps to keep it steady. Clips and Velcro may wear before the fabric; overall very easy to use.

Good build, but mind the bottom strap
This bag is very roomy and easy to fill. It has straps on both ends, so if you hang it vertically be sure to secure the bottom strap so a horse can’t get a hoof through it. Hanging it horizontally using both straps avoids that risk. Material and stitching seem robust for farm use.
