8-Strand Braided Fishing Line — 60 lb, 300 yd, Dark Green
Product description
What you get: a single 300-yard spool of 8-strand braided fishing line, colored dark green and rated at 60 lb test.
Construction and materials: braided from UHMWPE fibers into a tight 8-strand weave, then finished with a smooth outer coating. The braid’s composition gives it high tensile strength and superior abrasion resistance compared with many monofilament options of similar diameter.
Size and performance: the 60-pound rating provides substantial breaking strength while the compact braid profile saves reel space. The coating reduces friction through rod guides to promote longer, quieter casts and helps the line shed abrasions from rocks, docks and heavy cover.
How it’s used: suited for both saltwater and freshwater techniques — trolling, surf casting, spinning or baitcasting — where sensitivity and knot reliability matter. The dark green hue lowers visibility in structured or vegetated water. Inspect regularly for wear near contact points and trim frayed sections to extend service life.
Pros
- Zero-stretch for instant bite detection
- Compact diameter with high knot strength
- Smooth coating for longer, quieter casts
Cons
- Dark green color can be visible in very clear water
- Braided lines require regular abrasion checks
- May feel stiff on very small ultralight setups
VerdictThis 8-strand UHMWPE braid delivers the combination anglers look for: immediate bite feedback from near-zero stretch, compact diameter for strong lines without filling your spool, and a coated finish that eases guide friction for better casting. It’s durable around structure and vegetation and holds knots well, making it a reliable option for heavy freshwater or saltwater applications like trollin

Very sturdy and versatile
The spool is even and smooth with no visible defects. I don’t fish often, but this line has been handy around the house — supporting trellis netting, hanging lights and securing lightweight fencing. It’s thin, strong and nearly invisible when installed, so it won’t spoil a yard’s appearance.

Great casting and strength
I tested it on a big spinning reel and it casts well despite some texture. It spooled off cleanly and didn’t tangle. I tried pulling it tied to a trailer and couldn’t break it under expected loads. Keep an eye out for abrasion, but I’d re-spool with this line again.

Ideal for boat trolling
Perfect for trolling or dropping from a boat — solid strength and reliable performance. Not the greatest for long shore casts, but excellent for boat applications.

Held up for heavy leaders
Used it to build a strong leader for shark fishing and it handled the job without any failures. Very durable under heavy loads and held knots solidly during the trip.

Solid all-around braid
High-performing line that isn’t overly thick yet offers excellent strength. I’ve used it in both salt and fresh water with no issues and would recommend it to others.

Reliable for surf fishing
High-quality braid that performs well in the surf. It’s thinner and more supple than mono for the same test, so you can use heavier tackle without ruining presentation. Color has held up after sun and salt exposure, and cutoffs from tail-swipes haven’t been a problem so far.

Dependable for trolling
Comes on a 300 yd spool in dark green, which suited my trolling needs. The 60 lb braid matches a smaller mono diameter so there’s less drag. It works well with downrigger clips, doesn’t stretch, and knots have held. It’s 8-strand and feels like it will last several seasons.

SuperCourier 4/5
Robust 60 lb braid
Rated 60 lb and it looks every bit of it. The tight braid packs more strength per yard so you get more line on the spool. It’s fairly thick for small freshwater gear and the dark green is noticeable in super-clear water, but in weedy or green-stained lakes it blends in well.
