Phenyx Pro PM-26 Supercardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone with XLR
Product description
Optimized vocal response: The PM-26 is voiced to emphasize warm, full lows with naturally bright high frequencies, producing a balanced, neutral tonal character suitable for a range of vocal styles. Its dynamic capsule preserves a wide dynamic range so nuances in performance remain audible and impactful.
Directional control and pop suppression: The microphone uses a supercardioid polar pattern to concentrate on the sound source while rejecting off-axis noise and stage spill. A foam layer beneath the grille helps tame plosives and sibilance, delivering a smoother vocal signal on loud stages and in crowded environments.
Performance specs: The microphone’s sensitivity is rated at -50 ±2 dB with an impedance around 580 Ω, giving it relatively high output that requires less preamp gain. That makes it practical with lower-gain mixers and interfaces while still producing robust, clear levels.
Accessories for immediate use: The PM-26 ships with a 5 m (16.4 ft) XLR cable for flexible stage placement, a secure mic clip for stand mounting, a hook-and-loop strap to manage cables, and a faux-leather storage pouch to protect the mic from dust and moisture when not in use. These extras enable quick setup for rehearsals and shows.
Durability and compatibility: Built with a full-metal handle and capsule housing, the mic offers solid protection for frequent handling and transport. It connects via a standard XLR and pairs easily with mixers, PA systems, karaoke units, and audio interfaces for live sound, streaming, or public address applications.
Box content: 1 × PM-26 dynamic vocal microphone, 1 × mic clip, 1 × 5 m (16.4 ft) XLR cable, 1 × storage pouch, 1 × hook-and-loop cable strap.

- Solid all-metal construction built for rough use
- Includes XLR cable, clip, and storage pouch for instant setup
Cons

High value for everyday needs
Solid option that offers a lot for what it provides. Good value and performs reliably.

Performs well in a band setting
As the drummer and sound tech in a cover band, I compared this to familiar stage mics and found it noticeably more present in the upper mids, helping vocals slice through a dense mix. The strong signal reduced my preamp demands and the supercardioid pickup cut down bleed from the kit. Feels weighty and gig-ready.

Great for live use, not ideal for tracking
Worked wonderfully for live performance and through my acoustic amp, but it didn't translate as well into my audio interface for recording. I returned it in favor of a mic that served both live and studio needs. Excellent for busking or stage vocals, though.

Surprisingly good and economical
Bought it as a temporary substitute for an aging mic and was impressed. Specs and build looked solid, and the sound pleasantly exceeded expectations. It delivered a pleasing vocal tone right away.

Tough construction and strong sound
Feels heavy-duty and the audio is impressive for a handheld dynamic. Includes everything to hook up to a PA plus a durable clip. Overall a dependable performer for rehearsals and gigs.

Handy bundle for everyday stage use
Comes with a cable, clip and pouch so you can open and play immediately. Sound is clear and comparable to classic handheld models for general live use. I use it for lead vocals and as a talkback mic; the metal body gives me confidence it will survive drops.

Too muffled for my taste
I found the tonality quite dark and muffled. Had hoped for more clarity based on the brand reputation.

Solid build, clear vocal character
This mic feels robust — all-metal and ready for gigging. The tuning highlights warm lows and crisp highs that make vocals sound full without becoming boomy. Its supercardioid pattern keeps a lot of side noise out, and the output is hot enough that I didn't need to push preamps hard.

Rugged, practical addition to rehearsal gear
A budget-focused vocal mic that includes a useful pouch, clip, 5 m XLR, and a cable tether. All-metal build and a nicely machined thread under the grille. It outperformed tired studio mics at my local rehearsal room and the cable gave a clean connection to the PA.

Excellent at rejecting feedback
Tried it on a small PA and it really locks onto the source. Off-axis rejection is strong — step away and the level drops — which makes it excellent at avoiding monitor feedback and instrument bleed. Slightly brighter than some dynamics, and the supplied cable is serviceable.

Sturdy single mic with long cable
Well made and feels durable, with a long XLR lead. Sounds good and is built solidly. Only one mic is included despite box imagery that may show more.

Stage-ready with thoughtful accessories
Well packed with a quality cable and a flexible clip that seems built to last. The cable uses serviceable connectors so repairs are possible if needed. The Supercardioid pattern is a major plus on loud stages and the mic itself feels durable. Sound quality was very good in my setup.

Dependable choice for performers and creators
The PM-26 is a dependable handheld for singers, presenters, and streamers. The supercardioid pickup minimizes background noise, and the included cable, clip, and pouch provide everything needed for setup and safe storage.
