2m Star-Profile PTFE Filament Guide Tube 4mm OD for 1.75mm FDM Printers
Product description
This item is a single 2‑meter length of star-profile PTFE tubing intended for filament guidance in FDM 3D printers. The tube has a 4.0 mm outside diameter and an internal channel around 2.2 mm, optimized for 1.75 mm filament.
The interior uses a multi-lobed (star) profile rather than a simple circular bore. That geometry reduces contact surface and bending-related friction compared with a straight inner hole of the same nominal size, lowering resistance as filament enters and exits. The manufacturing uses PTFE resin sourced from a Japanese materials supplier, offering improved chemical resistance and longer wear life — the manufacturer cites up to ~45% greater durability versus common PTFE tubing.
Thermal performance covers a broad band, remaining stable from roughly -200°C up to about 260°C. The tube’s inner surface is ultra-smooth with self-lubricating behavior, which the maker estimates can cut internal resistance by roughly 30%. Other attributes include strong electrical insulation, hydrophobic, non-stick surfaces, and high purity suitable for applications where cleanliness matters. Package contents: one 2 m length of star-shaped PTFE tube.
Pros
- Lower filament friction due to star-shaped inner bore
- Wide operating temperature and improved chemical resistance
- Durable construction from high-purity PTFE material
Cons
- May not show marked improvement in every setup
- Requires a clean, square cut for best performance
- Profile might be less useful with very slack or highly flexible filaments
VerdictThis star-profile PTFE tube is a practical upgrade for filament routing where lower feed resistance and longer service life matter. The shaped inner profile reduces contact and bending friction, the material choice improves chemical and thermal resilience, and the dimensions suit 1.75 mm filaments in many FDM setups. It won’t dramatically change every setup, but for multi-material printing, longer

Fits Bambu AMS and H2C reliably
Slid into my Bambu Labs AMS Pro 2 and H2C without tight spots where another brand failed. I’ve used it with PLA and PETG with no feeding issues. The small cutter isn’t amazing, but the tubing itself is a convenient OEM alternative.

Extremely low friction
Very slick. Tested with well-hydrated TPU and it pulled with much less drag than standard 2.5/4mm lines, on par with some ultra-smooth 3/4mm options. Includes a compact cutter, handy for frequent use.

Compatible with P1S
Installed on a Bambu P1S with no fuss. Cuts cleanly and handles PETG, PLA and ASA reliably.

Solved our feeding issues
Swapped in these tubes and they fixed the extrusion problems we were seeing.

Solid value for star-profile tubing
Good star-profile PTFE at a reasonable cost. I run a lot of PPA-CF and PETG-CF; this tube gives reduced drag with moderate rigidity. Works well on my Creality K2 Plus.

Great for long AMS runs
Works well for remote AMS setups that need several feet of tubing. After a few hundred hours they’re holding up with no problems over 5–6 ft runs. The cutter is a useful extra and the diameter fits P2S, H2D, K1 series and AMS 2.0 style units.

Acceptable tubing
Arrived as described. I didn’t notice a dramatic friction drop compared with regular PTFE, though it does seem less likely to kink.

Noticeable improvement
Filament used to bounce in the old PTFE; after switching to these the feed is smooth and consistent.
