Garmin Forerunner Bike Mount Kit — Handlebar Watch Mount
Product description
What you get: a molded rubber/polymer handlebar cradle and a set of plastic cable ties for fastening.
Materials and construction: the main body is a flexible rubber-like polymer designed to accept a standard watch strap through an opening on the front, while the cable ties secure the mount to the bars. The flexible material provides some vibration damping and conforms around curved surfaces.
Sizes and fit: the cradle is built to accommodate most multisport watch cases and common handlebar shapes — from straight commuter bars to road aero bars — and will work with typical wrist strap widths. Because it relies on the watch strap and the included ties for retention, it adapts to a range of tube diameters and watch shapes. Use: wrap or thread your watch strap through the cradle, position the mount on the handlebar where you want it, and cinch the ties or a separate Velcro strap to lock it in place. For riders who want to move the mount between bikes, omit the fixed ties and use a removable strap instead.
Pros
- Quick, tool-free installation
- Works with many watch models
- Flexible material cushions vibration
Cons
- Can be bulky on narrow bars
- May require tightening ties on small diameters
- Not ideal for frequent bike-to-bike transfers without a separate strap
VerdictThis lightweight rubber cradle turns most Garmin multisport watches into an on‑bar bike computer quickly and cheaply. The kit ships with the molded mount and plastic cable ties; the flexible material grips watch bands well and can be fitted to a variety of handlebars and aero setups. Installation is fast and reversible, though fit varies with bar diameter and some riders prefer using a separate Ve

Solid quality, stays put
Well made and it doesn't shift even without the cable ties.

Great bar mount, slightly fiddly to fit
Would be five stars if initial installation were easier. Once mounted it holds the watch securely and works exactly as intended.

Holds my 920XT between aero bars
Installed this between my aero bars using athletic tape as a little bridge under the mount. Not perfect, but it's stayed solid for hundreds of miles. I'll tighten things up eventually, but it has worked reliably so far — yes, I'm still using a 920XT.

Perfect way to ride with my Fenix off my wrist
I picked this up to mount my Fenix3 so I wouldn't have to wear it while cycling. The rubber cradle slips over the handlebar and you thread the watch strap through the mount; I don't even use the plastic ties because the strap holds it secure. It replaced my dedicated bike computer — my cadence and speed sensors pair with the watch and the watch records my rides just fine.

Wish I'd used this sooner
I used to wear my watch on long rides before finding this. It's easy to attach and does the job well.

Zipties usually unnecessary — strap holds well
After upgrading watches I was unsure about compatibility, but the flexible rubber cradle accepts nearly any watch. When wrapped and tightened, the watch strap alone keeps the mount in place, which makes moving it between bikes quick if you skip the cable ties.

Thoughtful design and secure hold
I bought this for a Suunto Ambit2 originally and found it worth the cost. The cable-tie fixation is reassuring compared with mounts that rely solely on the watch strap, and the rubber with air chambers helps dampen shocks. The front slot for the strap prevents the watch from popping out even on rough trails. Downsides: it's fixed to one handlebar and not the cheapest option, but it fits most GPS watches.

A little fiddly to angle, but effective
Mounting is straightforward, the tricky part is getting the watch seated at the right tilt so you can read it. If you bend the mount to adjust angle the strap can be hard to thread, so you may end up twisting the whole piece. Once set though, it stays put and is far easier than reading the watch on your wrist while riding.

Struggles on very small diameter bars
I have a 1-inch flat bar with added aero extensions and while the mount fits, the rubber doesn't grab tightly enough on its own. I had to pull the zip-ties very tight to stop rotation from bumps. It does accept other devices with watch straps, but I'd like the cradle to be narrower and slimmer for watches with unusual shapes.

Good substitute for a quick-release mount
If you prefer keeping your original strap, this is a solid alternative to swapping to a quick-disconnect. Installation was a bit fiddly getting the zip ties through the slots, but after that it tightened well and held firmly. Note the mount is fairly wide — check available space on your bars.

Solved my need without buying a bike computer
I run with a Forerunner 210 and also cycle, but didn't want another device. A rep showed me how to switch speed display to miles/hour and this mount makes the watch usable on the bars. Cheap, simple, and the watch strap usually keeps it from moving.

Use a Velcro strap to swap the mount between bikes
I bought a Velcro wrist strap separately and use one rubber mount for two bikes — a cruiser and a road bike. I skip the plastic ties and secure the watch to the cradle with the Velcro band; it holds through 30-mile bumpy rides and is easy to transfer between bars.
