EDM9 Max 10.1" Digital Microscope for Coins & Soldering
Product description
Designed for coin collectors, penny-roll hunters, and numismatists who need to examine tiny mint marks, dates, die cracks, doubling, edges, scratches, and surface textures, this unit brings a tabletop viewing experience that replaces handheld loupes. The generous screen makes side-by-side comparisons, sorting, and photo documentation easier and far less fatiguing than leaning over a small lens.
The system centers on a 10.1-inch HD IPS display that supports longer, more comfortable inspections for adults, seniors, students, and hobbyists. The screen sits atop an adjustable metal stand with a stable base, allowing users to view coins, stamps, jewelry hallmarks, watch components, and textile fibers without bending close to the optics, which reduces eye and neck strain during extended sessions.
For electronics repair and makers, the microscope leaves a clear working area beneath the head so hands and tools fit beneath the lens while you inspect PCBs, solder joints, connectors, chips, and fine components. The stand’s height and angle adjustments simplify positioning, and the open workspace helps prevent crowding around your workbench when performing delicate fixes.
The head includes a ring of LEDs plus flexible side lights so you can tune illumination and angle to reduce glare on reflective surfaces and reveal fine relief and scratches. Outputs include an HDMI connection for projecting the view to a TV or monitor, plus USB-C connectivity for data and power. An SD card slot supports direct saving of photos and video for later review.
Remote capture lets you zoom, freeze-frame, and record without touching the screen, which reduces vibration and keeps focus steady while documenting error coins, watch parts, or solder repairs. The unit runs on a rechargeable battery that typically lasts a few hours of active use; it can also operate while connected to power for continuous bench work.
Key specs: a 20MP imaging sensor with a 5X–1500X magnification range, a 10.1" HD IPS display, adjustable metal stand with rubberized base, remote control, SD card support, HDMI output, and USB-C power/data ports. Included in the box are the microscope head with display, the adjustable stand, remote control, an SD card for storage, USB-C cable(s), HDMI output capability, a power adapter, and a user manual. The housing is molded plastic with a sturdy metal support arm and a stable base pad for bench use.

Solid value and clear images
Given what it offers, this desktop microscope performs very well. The large display is sharp, magnification handles both coins and small electronics, and the adjustable stand stays put. My only gripe is that the head and the base/light require separate USB-C connections, which is a minor hassle, but overall I’m pleased and would rate it highly.

Almost flawless; battery could be better
It does exactly what it should and is easy to operate. Battery life is around three hours under regular use, which cost it one star for me. I wired it to my bench for continuous work and that solved the power issue, so I’d definitely buy another.

Does what it says, well made
Matches the product description and performs well across magnifications for coins and fine work. The construction feels solid; I added a small silicone sleeve at the stand pivot for smoother adjustment and it improved positioning. Overall a well-built tool.

Great for team review and teaching
Compared with small handheld scopes, this setup is much more flexible — you can view on the 10.1" screen while others watch and discuss in real time. Images can be saved to the included SD card and you can output to a TV or computer via HDMI. So far I like it, though I’m keeping an eye on long-term durability.

Exceptional clarity for coin spotting
My partner searches for valuable finds and this microscope made identifying details so much easier. It’s a huge improvement over a magnifier — no neck strain and we can label, sort, and save photos to a USB drive for records. Great for its intended purpose.

Made coin hunting addictive
This changed the way I look at my collection — once I learned the controls I couldn’t put it down and stayed up late exploring details on dozens of pieces. Focus is straightforward, the remote lets me zoom without touching the display, and setup was quick. The screen is impressively large and the image quality kept me showing it off to friends.
