Pet Nail Clippers for Cats & Small/Medium Dogs — Precision Metal Trimmer
Product description
Designed for fragile pet nails, this trimmer targets the slender claws of cats and small to medium dogs. The blades sit at an angle to give you a clear line of sight so you can avoid cutting into the quick, and the cutting edges are intended to split the nail cleanly rather than crush it.
The tool is constructed entirely from stainless steel for the cutting head and body. At roughly 2 ounces, the compact, full-metal build keeps things light in the hand while avoiding the fragility of plastic housings. That slim profile makes it easier to control trims on squirmy kittens, puppies, rabbits, and even small birds.
Cleaning is straightforward thanks to the plain stainless surface: a quick wipe after each session is usually enough, and the material tolerates deeper cleaning if needed. The all-metal construction also resists wear so the trimmer maintains a steady feel and consistent cuts over time.
What’s included is simple and practical: one metal nail clipper plus one stainless steel nail file. After clipping, the file lets you smooth any sharp edges to reduce scratching of furniture and skin irritation for pets and handlers.
The combination of angled visibility, lightweight handling, and stainless durability makes this a useful tool for routine indoor nail care. It’s intended for precision rather than heavy-duty canine trimming on very large breeds, and users should trim carefully to avoid the quick.
Pros
- Angled blades for better visibility
- Full stainless steel construction
- Includes stainless steel nail file
Cons
- No protective depth guard
- Not ideal for very large dog nails
- File may be too smooth for some users
VerdictA lightweight, all-metal trimmer designed for delicate claws. The angled blades improve visibility to help avoid the quick, and the stainless steel body stays sturdy through repeated use. Comes with one clipper and a metal file to finish edges. Best suited to owners of cats, kittens, small and medium dogs, and other small pets who need a precise, low-bulk tool for at-home grooming.

Disappointing for me
Poor fit and dull blades in my pair. Hard to hold and they caused splitting instead of clean cuts. I don’t recommend these.

Reliable animal nail cutter
I've tried many clippers and this is the most dependable one I own. It trims cleanly on my dogs without shredding the nail. Solid choice if you regularly cut pet nails.

Exactly what I wanted
Good, sharp clippers that slice instead of cracking the nail. Comfortable in hand. Be cautious while trimming since there’s no guard.

Also useful for halving unscored pills
I used these to split amlodipine besylate tablets after other cutters crushed them. When you steady the pill so the cut is perpendicular they slice cleanly. The jaws are sharp and well aligned and the feel is very controlled—this tool should work fine on cat nails as well.

Sturdy enough for a large dog
I needed something durable for my 75 lb dog and the metal construction handled it without sticking or breaking. The plastic cover keeps them closed. The file is too smooth for my needs, but overall a dependable trimmer.

Sharp, quiet, and easy to grip
The stainless blades are sharp and make quiet, clean cuts that calm my cat during trims. The ergonomic non-slip handle gives steady control and the small plastic latch keeps them closed. A dual-sided file is included, though my pets won’t sit long enough for me to use it.
