Adhesive Poster Putty — 120 Reusable Mounting Squares
Product description
What’s included: 120 individual adhesive putty pieces per pack. Each piece is pre-cut into a square roughly 0.4 inches x 0.4 inches (1 cm x 1 cm) so you can take just what you need and keep the rest sealed away for later use.
Material and performance: The putty is made from a pliable, tacky compound designed to cling to paper, lightweight plastics and thin posters. It’s formulated to be removable and reusable; when used on clean, non-porous surfaces and handled correctly it won’t leave obvious residue or damage the item it’s holding.
How to use: Pick the number of squares required for the item’s weight, roll or knead them between your fingers until soft and adhesive, press the putty onto the object’s back, then firmly press the item onto a clean, dry wall. Reworking the putty by rubbing it makes it more malleable and increases initial tack.
Applications: Ideal for temporary displays — mounting pictures, posters, lightweight frames, party decorations, classroom signs, craft projects and quick fixes where pins or tape aren’t desired. It’s a convenient alternative to pins or magnets for hanging lightweight items on smooth surfaces.
Care and cautions: Avoid sticking the putty to very porous or flaky surfaces, fresh paint, wallpaper, or delicate fabrics. Not recommended for supporting heavy objects or glass. If small residues remain, they can generally be rolled away or lifted with another piece of putty; storing the pack in a cool place helps preserve texture and tack.
Pros
- Large quantity of pre-cut reusable squares
- Gentle removal from many surfaces
- Easy to shape and apply
Cons
- Not suitable for heavy items
- Can get tacky or stringy in warm conditions
- May leave residue on some surfaces
VerdictThis kit gives you a large supply of small, tacky squares that work well for hanging paper, photos and light decorations. They’re easy to shape, remove cleanly from many surfaces, and can be reused several times. They aren’t suited for heavy items or porous/newly painted walls, and color or stickiness may vary with temperature or storage. Overall a practical option for temporary displays and craft

Glad this color option exists
Darker gray rather than pure black, but much better than hiding previous white tack. Happy to have this alternative.

Very satisfying tack
Reminded me of older tacks I used before ordering online. Comes with tons of little squares which I use in my classroom. Texture is sticky yet removes cleanly; in high heat it can stretch, but the stringy bits are easy to gather up.

Tacky and effective
Provides the hold I needed with no fuss.

A bit pricey
Served for holding small parts during painting but struggled to adhere to some shapes. Some spots were not tacky enough while others stuck too well. It worked, but feels expensive for what it is.

Leaves a bit of residue
Not ideal for my needs — it stays gooey and can leave residue behind. The color is fine, though; maybe that’s normal for this formula.

Works but limited holding power
A single square won’t secure a corner well. It behaves like putty: pull quickly it snaps, pull slowly it stretches and strings.

Great for holding paper
Soft and flexible, they stick paper to walls reliably and peel off without splitting the paper or scuffing the paint. They can support slightly heavier posters or small plastic bits but aren’t rated for anything bulky.

Not as good as the classic brand, still solid
I grew up using the original brand and miss it, but this bright blue tack grips surfaces and lifts off walls without damage. It clings to paper quite strongly and held a schedule in place for months.

Very versatile
I use these for posters and to secure small items. They haven’t bubbled and one sheet lasts a long time — there are lots of squares. You can snap off however many you need. The blue color stands out a bit and they’ll stick to themselves if stored warm.

Holds very well
Adheres strongly to surfaces. The black tone suits my use.

No neat snap-off squares on arrival
If you expect crisp pre-shaped squares they may be squashed in transit into a flattened strip. Still usable and sticky enough, though it can get gunky over time.

Exactly right
Matches what I needed down to the size and tackiness.
