8-inch Dog Grooming Scissors — Long Straight Shears
Product description
What’s included: one pair of 8-inch straight grooming scissors, finished and adjusted before shipping.
Materials and lifespan: Blades are crafted from VG10 Japanese stainless steel, engineered to hold an edge significantly longer than 440C. The manufacturer states the cutting edge can remain precise for months of regular use, reducing the need for frequent sharpening or replacement.
Blade and sizing details: The scissors feature long, straight blades intended for full-body trims and contouring on a wide range of dog coat types. The straight profile delivers even, snag-free cuts and is suitable for shaping and bulk trimming.
Handle and ergonomics: A lightweight construction paired with a 3D-offset ergonomic handle decreases wrist and finger fatigue during extended grooming sessions. The design targets both professional stylists and DIY owners who need comfortable, repeatable performance.
Safety and comfort: Rounded tips help prevent accidental pokes, and the noise-dampening build reduces startling sounds to keep pets calmer. Each pair is hand-sharpened and fine-tuned by craftsmen with decades of experience to improve cutting reliability over mass-produced alternatives.

Avoid cutting wet coats
Do not attempt to trim a dog’s coat while it’s wet.

Arrived showing prior use
My pair showed wear and signs of being used. Not acceptable when expecting a new product.

Solid performance for the cost
Good shears for the price point. Construction feels sturdy, they sit comfortably in my hand and cut cleanly. Sharpness impressed me overall; I’d recommend them to other groomers.

Uncomfortable fit and blunt out of the box
Finger holes were awkward and I couldn’t get a comfortable grip. Worse, the blades were dull and folded hair instead of cutting cleanly. Disappointing.

High-performance shears with sawtooth option
As a trained groomer with experience using $300–$500 shears, these 7–8" VG10 shears compare well. Edge retention is impressive and the sawtooth edge prevents folding on fine, cottony coats while still handling coarser fur. The offset handle is comfortable for long sessions and makes them versatile for many coat types.
