OSTBA Infrared Cabinet Heater — 1500W, 6-Element Unit with Remote
Product description
This cabinet-style infrared heater ships with the heater unit, a handheld remote control, and a user manual. The unit contains six infrared heating elements arranged inside a slim upright cabinet to produce a total output of 1500 watts; there is also a reduced 1000W setting for lower demand.
The exterior combines a powder-coated steel housing for the main cabinet with a plastic top control panel and vents where the radiant heat emits. The display is digital and the control layout supports power, mode selection (high, low, ECO, fan only), temperature adjustment, timer and an electro child-lock function.
Thermostat range in ECO mode covers roughly 41 to 95°F so you can set a target room temperature and let the heater cycle to maintain it. A programmable timer runs from 0 up to 12 hours in one-hour increments for scheduled operation. Built-in safety includes automatic shutoff for tip-over and an internal overheat sensor designed for indoor household use.
The heater’s footprint is compact and intended to fit in corners or beside furniture; the tall, narrow cabinet saves floor space while placing the controls on the top panel. Typical use is plug-in operation on a hard, level surface for living rooms, bedrooms, basements or bonus rooms where quick radiant warmth and thermostat control are desired.
Pros
- Strong infrared output with two power settings and ECO thermostat
- Remote plus digital controls and programmable 0–12 hour timer
- Multiple safety cutoffs including tip-over and overheat protection
Cons
- Top-mounted controls may be awkward to reach
- Remote and some plastic controls can feel delicate
- Cabinet is compact — may be smaller than expected for some rooms
VerdictA capable space heater for small to medium rooms that blends rapid radiant warmth with programmable convenience. The six-element design provides strong, far-reaching heat while ECO thermostat and timer options reduce running time. Safety features and remote control make it practical for daily use; some users note the remote and top-mounted controls feel a bit fragile or awkwardly placed.

Very satisfied after winter use
Good quality product — I purchased two and used them throughout the winter with no problems.

Reliable replacement that heats evenly
I bought this to swap out an old unit we’d used for years. It runs more efficiently, actually cycles off when it reaches temperature, and provides better room heat. Only minor nitpick: the controls sit on top of the heater, which is a personal preference rather than a performance issue.

Does what I needed
So far these heaters meet our needs. Simple, straightforward and they do the job.

Far more effective than standard electric heaters
These small infrared units are impressive. After ditching the weak heater that shipped with our electric fireplace, this model sends noticeable warmth across the room — you can feel it even 10 feet away. Ideal for basements where conventional heaters just blow heat upward.

Lightweight and great for a small kitchen
Extremely light and easy to move. It shuts off automatically if tipped, and heats quickly on either setting. Perfect for warming my farmhouse kitchen.

Surprisingly compact and quiet — very happy
Smaller than I expected but performs well. Heats my 550 sq ft living room quietly — set the thermostat at 70°F and it holds 73° inside while it’s 35° outdoors. The cord doesn’t overheat and the cabinet stays cool except where air exits. Remote seems a bit flimsy but functions fine; I’d buy it again.

Heats a 500 sq ft room consistently
This little unit finally warmed our 500 sq ft bonus room over the garage where other space heaters only warmed the immediate area. It warms the whole room without getting excessively hot and keeps the set temperature steady. Great value for the function.
