Midea 3L Induction Rice Cooker with Steamer Basket
Product description
Omni-directional induction heating: This model uses both an upper heater and a bottom induction system so heat reaches the inner pot from multiple directions. That design promotes even grain cooking, helps maintain temperature during keep-warm, and reduces interior condensation.
High cooking power: The cooker operates at 1130W, providing strong, steady heat. When using the Quick Rice program the unit can yield up to about 12 cups cooked (from a 6-cup uncooked load) in roughly 25 minutes, depending on rice type and water ratio.
Fuzzy-logic control: Built-in fuzzy-logic programming measures rice and adjusts cooking stages automatically, modulating time and temperature to suit the load for more reliable results without manual fiddling.
2 mm multi-layer nonstick inner pot: The inner cooking vessel is 2.0 mm thick with several conductive layers and a nonstick coating for even heat distribution, reduced cook times, and easier cleanup. The pot’s weight and build improve heat retention and uniformity.
Preset menus and capacity: Intended for small families, the 3L/6-cup uncooked capacity cooker includes eight preset modes: Quick Rice, White Rice, Brown Rice, Mixed Grain, Congee, Soup, Oatmeal and Steam. Congee, Soup and Steam supports timer settings up to 120 minutes for longer simmers.
Delay start and keep-warm: You can schedule cooking up to 24 hours in advance and the appliance will enter an automatic keep-warm mode when cooking finishes. For long storage the manufacturer advises removing rice after several hours for best texture.
Accessories and maintenance: The unit ships with a removable steam basket, which sits over the inner pot for steaming dumplings, vegetables and more. A carrying handle adds portability and the inner lid is removable for straightforward washing and sanitizing.
Pros
- Even heating from top and bottom IH elements
- Smart fuzzy-logic presets for varied grains
- Thick multi-layer nonstick inner pot
Cons
- Cooking cycles are longer than basic models
- Keep-warm ceases after 24 hours
- Some units may emit a faint buzzing during keep-warm
VerdictThis Midea 3L IH rice cooker brings induction heating and fuzzy-logic timing to a small-family appliance. It cooks evenly thanks to top-and-bottom heaters and a thick multi-layer inner pot, offers a useful set of presets and a 24-hour delay/keep-warm option. Expect longer cook cycles than simple hot-plate units but noticeably improved rice texture and consistent results. Good choice for households

A capable IH alternative with a steamer
After comparing higher-end machines, I chose this as a more affordable IH option with fuzzy-logic controls. Menus are simple but cover Quick (about 25 min for cooked yield), White (~40 min) and Brown (~80 min), adjustable with +/-. The included steam basket works well for dumplings and veg. Keep-warm functions reliably, though occasionally it emits a light buzz.

Should have upgraded years ago
Simple operation, easy to clean and we use it nearly every day. The induction element makes a noticeable difference in texture.

High-quality results
Excellent build and fluffier rice. It does take longer, so allow prep time.

Great IH value and flavor
Rice comes out delicious and my partner loves it. This unit delivers IH-level results at a more approachable option compared with much pricier alternatives.

Takes longer but produces great rice
We’ve used it for years with no issues. Cook times are longer than my old cooker, but the rice texture is superior—white about 40 min, brown roughly 80 min—so plan ahead.

Noticeable upgrade from basic cookers
Stepped up from a plain hot-plate model and the difference is clear: more even cooking, fluffier grains and a keep-warm that maintains moisture without hardening the bottom layer.

Started making noise after months
Worked fine at first but developed an annoying noise after a few months of use. Disappointing.

Keep-warm ends after 24 hours
I expected continuous keep-warm. This model drops that mode after 24 hours and suggests removing rice after a few hours. If you need all-day warm rice, this isn’t the right fit. Otherwise decent.

Consistent results every time
The inner pot is noticeably thick and hefty. With heat from above and below rice cooks evenly whether I make one cup or a full pot. Very reliable and good value.
