Microchip for Dogs and Cats — 1.4 x 8 mm 20-Pack Implant Kit
Product description
Quality matters: these microchips are manufactured in Germany using bioglass encapsulation to ensure long-term stability and consistent readability. Each transponder carries a unique worldwide ID and has been tested individually for scan response.
What you get: a 20-pack of implantable bioglass transponders and accompanying single-use, sharp implantation needles. The kit is supplied sterile and intended for single application per needle. An anti-drop design keeps the chip secured in the applicator until implantation.
Materials and construction: the tag is glass-coated to minimize migration beneath the skin once implanted. The anti-drop mechanism prevents the transponder from detaching inside the applicator prior to use.
Standards and compatibility: chips conform to ISO 11784/11785 (FDX-B) at 134.2 kHz, so they are readable by all FDX-B compatible scanners worldwide.
Size guidance: 1.4 x 8 mm units are intended for cats, small puppies and similarly small animals such as chickens, ducks and owls. Larger animals, including big dogs and livestock, can use the larger 2.12 x 12 mm option. For very small species (tiny fish, mice, hamsters, snakes, frogs, pigeons) the 1.25 x 7 mm variant is recommended.
Registration: for increased odds of reunion if a pet is lost, register your pet’s unique ID in a global database. A recommended option is Animal ID via the Pet Care App, which provides broad search visibility and round-the-clock support.
Expiration note: the printed five-year date on packaging refers to the injectable components’ shelf life, not the microchip. The transponder itself does not have a functional lifespan and is designed to last the animal’s life.
Pros
- German-made bioglass transponders
- ISO 11784/11785 FDX-B (134.2 kHz) compatible
- Includes single-use needles and anti-drop applicator
Cons
- Needle and chip sizes are fixed — choose carefully
- Packaging date applies to injection components only
- Requires proper technique or prior demonstration
VerdictA reliable, German-made bioglass microchip kit that meets ISO FDX-B standards and scans consistently. The pack is suited to cats, small puppies and other small animals; chips are lifetime identifiers while the injection components carry a separate expiration. Good for breeders, rescues and owners who are comfortable performing implants after proper instruction.

Simple for first-timers
Saved money by doing the litter after watching a vet demo. The applicator gives a clear view, was easy to handle, and worked well for six pups.
