Howard Leight Max Lite LPF-1 Low-Pressure Foam Earplugs — 200 Pairs
Product description
These are disposable earplugs made from low-density polyurethane foam designed for gentler expansion inside the ear canal. Each pack contains 200 pairs of the LPF-1 Max Lite model, identifiable by their green color.
The plugs feature a smooth, closed-cell foam surface that resists soil and helps reduce foreign matter accumulation in the ear, promoting better hygiene. The low-pressure foam is intentionally softer than standard plugs so it expands slowly and exerts less force against the canal walls, making them suitable for smaller ears.
A contoured T-shape at the outer end provides a convenient spot to grip for both insertion and removal; users roll the foam, insert it into the canal, and allow it to expand to form a seal. They are rated with an NRR of 30, offering substantial attenuation for many industrial and recreational noise environments.
Typical recommended uses include agriculture, construction, emergency services, forestry, government and law enforcement, manufacturing, mining, metalworking, transportation, utilities, and welding. The pack supplies enough disposable pairs for repeated daily use over an extended period.
Pros
- Soft, low-pressure foam for small ear canals
- High attenuation with NRR 30
- Smooth closed-cell skin for cleaner wear
Cons
- Disposable only, not intended for long-term reuse
- Length can feel long in some ears
- Very effective — reduces ambient awareness
VerdictDesigned for people with smaller ear canals, these low-pressure foam plugs offer a soft, gradual expansion and a snug, noise-blocking fit rated NRR 30. The closed-cell skin helps keep grime away, and the T-shaped contour makes insertion and removal quick. Ideal for long shifts, sleeping, riding, and noisy chores, though their length and strong isolation can feel excessive for some wearers.

Trusted for sleep and chores
I've been using these to sleep and for noisy house jobs for decades and they remain comfortable and reliable.

Quiet, comfortable, reliable attenuation
These Max Lite plugs match an older comfortable design I used to buy locally. They offer painless wear and effective attenuation across frequencies; they feel very similar in shape, texture and protection, with perhaps slightly greater absorption.

Comfortable for nightly use
I've tried many plugs and wear these every night without trouble. They stay comfy long-term, the flared end helps block sound, and a 200-pair box will last me an exceptionally long time. I rinse a few pairs occasionally.

My go-to for motorcycle rides
These are among the softest foam plugs I've found and work well if seated correctly. I can wear them all day on a ride, though they muffle so much that environmental sounds are reduced significantly.

Excellent for loud hobbies
I use them for drumming, riding, mowing and similar loud tasks. They roll down easily and slide into my fairly narrow canals; moistening helps. Once they expand they seal very well and protect hearing effectively.

Soft and ideal for sleep
They are very soft and I barely notice them while sleeping, making them great for overnight use.

Only ones that don't hurt at work
After trying many workplace options, these are the only plugs that don't make my ears ache after an hour or more. The foam pressure is minimal so I can wear them through an 8-hour shift without discomfort.

Light and soft
Very light, very soft — I like them.

Good fit
They conform nicely to my ears and block noise well.

Helps block partner's snoring
As a side sleeper I barely notice them and they cut out most snoring while still letting my alarm through. I usually get 3–4 nights of use before they lose sealing power; they can feel a bit long but stay easy to insert and remove.

Comfort after ear surgery
My ear canals are smaller due to surgery and most plugs cause soreness. These can be worn 8+ hours while riding and reduce wind and engine noise better than other types rated in the low 20s. Pair packaging is handy for carrying spares.

No headaches during long sessions
I used the original larger model and had headaches from pressure. The Max Lite are much softer and pliable, so I could wear them for hours during an exam without pain. They have a slightly lower NRR than the larger version (30 vs ~32–33). Washing may make some plugs expand faster, so test one pair first.
