HDMI Extender over Single Cat6 (TX/RX) — 200ft, 1080p, EDID Copy
Product description
This HDMI extender set includes a transmitter (TX) unit, a receiver (RX) unit and a single 5V power adapter to power the system. The sender can provide power to the receiver via the Cat6 link (PoC), so only one adapter is typically needed for normal operation.
The extender transmits both high-resolution video and multichannel audio over a single oxygen-free copper Cat6 cable for distances up to 200 feet (approximately 60 meters). It supports common video modes including 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576i and 480p, and handles audio formats such as DTS-HD, DTS and DSD.
Built-in electronics include EDID management so the transmitter can read and store the display’s EDID information to improve compatibility with various sources. The units feature automatic signal conditioning and ESD protection to stabilize the picture and reduce interference; for best results use high-quality Cat6 cable with solid copper conductors.
Installation is plug-and-play: connect the HDMI source to the TX, run Cat6 between TX and RX, connect the display to the RX, and plug in the provided 5V adapter at the transmitter. Typical uses include extending HDMI to projectors, digital signage displays, meeting-room screens, church AV systems, classrooms, game setups and video production environments.
Pros
- Single Cat6 run supports up to 200 ft
- Only one power adapter required (PoC)
- EDID copy improves source/display compatibility
Cons
- Performance depends on cable quality and connectors
- Single HDMI output on transmitter (no multi-display out of box)
- Some units can be sensitive to certain source devices
VerdictThis HDMI extender kit is a straightforward option for extending high-definition HDMI signals over a single Cat6 run up to 200 feet. It’s plug-and-play, supports EDID copying and can be powered from the transmitter end, reducing the need for two adapters. Reliability can vary with cable quality and installation, but it delivers clear 1080p video and multichannel audio when used with recommended ca

Good signal, watch the power adapter lifespan
Signal quality is good, but my unit’s power adapter failed after roughly a year of use.

Well made and supported, but not an Ethernet network extender
The hardware and customer support were both excellent. However, the product name can be misleading: it does not extend Ethernet network traffic. It requires a dedicated Cat6 cable between TX and RX rather than using an existing network switch or routed Ethernet.

Did not work out of the box, later found odd behavior
Arrived late and initially wouldn’t pass any signal despite powering up. I tried multiple monitors, sources and cables with no success. After troubleshooting it turned out the unit behaved unexpectedly and seemed affected by a quality-control issue; replacement or return was needed.

Compact, one-end power, reliable over long runs
Better than a previous model I bought. Picture quality is excellent and the connection is stable over 100+ feet of Cat5. Only drawback: the transmitter has a single HDMI output, so it won’t natively feed two displays without a splitter.

Works fine at first, then degraded over time
Initially both extenders worked well for TV use and only needed one power source. After several months I began seeing pixelation; swapping cables didn’t help. The seller later sent replacements, but those intermittently flash to black every few minutes. I ended up switching to a different brand for long-term reliability.

Solved my distance problem but had a short life, replacement fixed it
My projector wouldn’t take a 50 ft HDMI run, but this extender worked with a 50 ft Ethernet cable and solved the issue. It failed after about a month of light use, but the seller sent a replacement quickly and the replacement has been fine.

Solid build, flexible power options
I received a request to share feedback, so here it is: the units are well made and have been reliable for most uses. They can accept power from either end, though some Apple gear or low-power HDMI sources may require the transmitter to be powered. I used them to extend a non-NDI camera and to consolidate HDMI runs into Cat5 links for easier room setups. Overall they reduced bulky HDMI cabling and cabling complexity between rooms.

Excellent performance and single-end power is handy
Image and sound quality are excellent when used with Cat6 UTP. I like that only the transmitter needs a power connection, unlike other kits that require adapters on both ends. No noticeable lag in audio or video.
