Installed today and it works fine. Solar fountains need full sun to run strongly; clouds or partial shade cause weak or intermittent spraying. Follow instructions: keep the panel clear of debris and the motor fully submerged.

Simple maintenance fixes most issues
They work well. Most 'failures' are algae blocking the intake — remove the pump and rinse or brush the inlet. In hot weather you'll need to do this more often.

Needs direct sun placement
Works as described but stops with even slight cloud cover or indirect light. I placed it where it gets bright afternoon light but not direct sun and it doesn't spray there.

Handy little fountain for small ponds
Bought one before that lasted a couple years. The new unit has been fine for months. Works well in small ponds or large containers; spray can blow out of tiny bowls in wind but without a nozzle it just bubbles nicely.
