Babo Botanicals Super Shield SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen Stick
Product description
This product ships as a single roll-up sunscreen stick in a compact tube (approximately 0.6 oz). It’s designed for direct application without using hands for large areas—twist the base, glide the stick over exposed skin, and reapply as needed.
The active sun blocker is non-nano zinc oxide, providing broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection. The formula also includes moisturizing sunflower oil and is made with about 70% organic ingredients, drawing from a total of 17 plant-based components. The blend features a certified organic Nutri‑Soothe Herbal Blend intended to calm and nourish sensitive skin.
It’s water resistant for up to 80 minutes, making it suitable for swimming or sweaty activities when reapplied appropriately. Certifications include NSF and MADE SAFE, and the product is EWG-verified. Because of the small size, it’s most practical for faces, small kids, hands, and quick touch-ups rather than full-body sunscreen application.
Pros
- Easy, direct stick application for quick touch-ups
- Mineral zinc oxide formula suitable for sensitive skin
- Water resistant for up to 80 minutes
Cons
- Very small 0.6 oz tube — not ideal for full-body use
- May contain a synthetic ester some buyers object to
- Limited quantity makes it less economical for large families
VerdictThis mineral stick delivers straightforward, broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection in a compact, roll-up format that’s easy to apply and reapply. The formula centers on zinc oxide, sunflower oil, and a certified organic herbal blend, making it well suited to sensitive skin and daily face use. Performance in water and during active play is solid for short windows, but the tiny .6 oz tube limits how much

Try it — you'll want to reorder
Excellent product — doesn’t leave a white cast and it’s natural.

Formula note: contains a synthetic ester
The ingredient list includes butyloctyl salicylate, a synthetic ester. That means it isn’t purely mineral by composition; buyers seeking strictly mineral-only sunscreens should check the label carefully.

Effective under intense Florida sun
Good for face use while swimming a few hours at peak sun. Goes on easily; as a fair-skinned person I let it sit rather than rubbing it all in to avoid redness. Works well on hands but not recommended for whole-body use.

Gentle mineral stick for quick reapplications
Non-toxic and gentle for sensitive skin, glides on without a heavy white cast. Super convenient for topping up on kids and adults — a solid on-the-go option.

Handy kid-friendly stick — smaller than pictured
Used this on a family trip to Punta Cana and it was a lifesaver. We prefer cleaner sunscreens for our young kids and avoid sprays; the stick made applying and reapplying fast, and it stayed through lots of swimming so no burns. The surprise was the size — it’s only 0.6 oz, a lot smaller than the images — but it’s terrific for travel.

Compact and travel-ready
I like the light scent and clean ingredients. The size is perfect for carrying around and it doesn’t melt easily. I’m outdoors a lot and want to avoid pigmentation; one stick lasted me through the season.

Misleadingly tiny — size warning
Glad it’s chemical-free but surprised by how small the actual stick is. The product should show someone holding it for scale; I expected deodorant-sized but it’s about half that. Price felt steep for the volume.

Small face stick ideal for sensitive skin
Perfect purse size with a very mild clay-like scent. Application is smooth for a mineral sunscreen. My child and I have sensitive and sensory issues, and this works well for daily face use and lasts a while.

Easy, tidy application—lasted through pool time
Roll it up, paint it on and rub in—much less messy than lotion from hands. Coverage held well in the pool and it wasn’t sticky. The small stick lasted our family of five on faces for a week and still had life left. Impressed by the non-nano zinc sitting on the skin surface.

No-grease, gentle protection
Tiny stick but spreads well and has almost no odor. Not greasy, so I didn’t feel the need to wash it off immediately. It prevented burns where applied and didn’t cause allergic reactions for me.

Worked well for our baby in hot weather
Used this on my baby during a May trip to Goa and it held up well in the heat.

Poor performance — greasy and drying
Left greasy white patches and caused skin dryness; not effective for my needs.
