WEN 4800W Quiet RV-Ready Portable Inverter Generator (56477i)
Product description
This portable inverter generator is driven by a 224cc engine that can supply up to 4,800 surge watts and 4,000 continuous watts, making it suitable for RVs and household essentials. The unit is tuned to produce steady, sine-like electrical output with total harmonic distortion under 0.3% at no load and below 1.2% at full load, so laptops, phones, and other sensitive devices can be run safely.
Safety features include the WEN Watchdog CO Shutdown Sensor that will automatically stop the generator if harmful carbon monoxide levels are detected, plus automatic shutoffs for low oil and low fuel. The fuel shutoff valve drains the carburetor by allowing remaining fuel to be consumed before the unit stops, reducing gum and clogging that can form when fuel sits in the system.
Portability is supported by built-in wheels and a telescoping pull handle. The 1.9-gallon fuel tank yields about seven hours of operation at half load. An eco-mode lets the engine adjust RPM to match demand and improve fuel efficiency. Two units can be combined using a parallel connection kit (sold separately) to increase available wattage.
The output panel includes four 120V three-prong NEMA 5-20R receptacles, one 120V TT-30R RV outlet, one 12V DC outlet and two 5V USB ports to cover a wide range of devices. Other protective features include overload protection and indicator lights for straightforward diagnostics. A 3-year limited warranty is provided along with access to a national service network and customer support.

Starts easily and runs smoothly
Simple setup — oil and gas topped, choke set, and one pull got it running right away. I tested an electric drill on every outlet and it held steady at idle. It’s quiet and smooth; I’ll try it on our camper trailer soon.

Great when working, service disappointment
Worked fine initially but died after several weeks of heavy use despite regular oil changes. I discovered an exhaust cap issue and adjusted the valve clearance, yet compression never returned. Warranty portal produced no reply for weeks and a long phone hold led to being told I must ship the entire unit at my own cost for diagnosis. It was reliable when functional, but post-failure support was poor.

Compact and capable for short trips
Compact and relatively light for the power it provides. It powered my camper AC for a long weekend with only an occasional hard start after extended running. Overall it performed well and stayed fairly quiet.

Dependable and performs at altitude
Quiet, portable, and more reliable than our previous unit. Handles high-altitude conditions well and hasn’t let us down.

Solid build for critical backup
Bought to protect medication in the fridge and it’s been dependable. A medium garage freezer has run without problems. Follow the manual: check oil, run monthly tests, and keep maintenance up. It has started every test reliably and seems fuel efficient. The unit feels well built, quiet and steady — I’m very happy with it.

Quiet, reliable power for my camper
Very satisfied — it runs silently compared with older models and the telescoping handle and wheels make it simple to move. I keep it in the back of my truck with the tonneau cover and it fits well. Starts easily on the first or second pull. I use ethanol-free fuel, engage the fuel cutoff when storing it, follow break-in and oil-change guidance, and avoid leaving gas in it for long stretches. Powered my 30A camper (AC, microwave, lights) without a noticeable dip.

Kept us going through a long outage
Saved us during a nine-day power loss — it arrived right before our outage and setup was straightforward with a neighbor's help. I could start it myself and run multiple extension cords to supply Wi-Fi, TV, phone chargers, refrigerator, deep freezer, and small kitchen appliances. We rotated plugs to avoid exceeding wattage. It wasn’t enough for our water heater, but it handled essentials and gave us peace of mind. Considering a higher-capacity unit next.
