Setex Gecko Grip 1.0mm Anti-Slip Nose Pads for Glasses — 5 Pairs Clear
Product description
Setex Gecko Grip nose pads are sold as five pairs of clear, 1.0mm-thick stick-on pads intended for plastic eyeglass frames. Each pad contains a dense array of microfiber fibrils—approximately 3,500 tiny structures per pad—that create a gecko-like dry gripping surface to resist slippage in sweaty, oily, or humid conditions.
The pads are formulated for use with full plastic frames including acetate and TR90 materials, and are suitable for sunglasses, reading glasses, blue-light blockers, safety eyewear and similar styles that lack built-in nose rests. The adhesive backing is a removable 3M-based gel designed to bond well to plastic while allowing residue-free removal when pads are changed.
Materials are soft and cushion-like so pressure is spread across the bridge to reduce red marks and discomfort during extended wear. The pads are easy to clean to help preserve tack and are intended to be replaced as needed—lifespan varies with temperature, skin oils and activity. Manufactured with a patented fibrillar gecko design in the United States, the pads are engineered to grip without leaving sticky residue on frames.
Pros
- Strong dry grip in humid or sweaty conditions
- Thin, soft material reduces pressure marks
- Removable 3M adhesive designed for plastic frames
Cons
- Adhesive can weaken in sustained high heat
- Not as effective on heavier or ill-fitting frames
- Pads are consumable and need periodic replacement
VerdictThese Setex Gecko Grip pads deliver a dry, non-sticky hold that helps stop lightweight plastic frames from sliding down the nose. The thin 1.0mm pads are soft and distribute pressure to reduce marks and irritation, and they remove cleanly when replaced. They outperform ordinary silicone pads in grip and feel, but the adhesive can soften in prolonged high heat and pads will typically need replacing

Discreet, comfy and handy
Very pleased — they solve a common glasses issue. I applied them in minutes, the storage box is convenient, and I’ll probably put them on all my pairs and buy more.

Stops slip but needs careful placement
Very helpful, especially with progressive lenses, though they typically last 2–3 weeks. I bought a larger pack and keep extras handy. Use alcohol prep and tweezers to align them precisely — touching the adhesive weakens it.

Low-profile and effective
They’re discreet, like tiny stickers: peel and stick. My glasses stay in place even when I shake my head. The pads are soft, barely visible and come with a small case for storage.

Superior grip and comfortable
Far better than the thin pads I tried before — these hold firmly, feel comfortable and haven’t irritated my skin. Application was simple and my initial set shows no sign of peeling yet. Worth paying a bit more for the performance.

Stood up to a hot walk
I recommend them so far. After a long walk in warm weather they stayed put, and they only slipped slightly compared with other brands I’ve tried.

Effectively lifted my frames and lasted nearly two months
These narrowed the contact point and kept my glasses from sliding while I talked and expressed my face. They redistributed the pressure higher on my bridge and were much less annoying. I tracked longevity: the first pair lasted about 59½ days, with adhesive showing breakdown around day 42 and eventual failure later on.

Great for lightweight frames, struggles with heavier ones
I put them on two pairs and they work perfectly for my everyday, lightweight glasses. On a heavier pair they helped some but didn’t fully prevent slippage. Excellent for light frames, less reliable for heavier models.

Works well for larger frames
Excellent performance on big glasses that tend to slip. They hold them up nicely; I’m watching to see how long they last over time.

Doesn’t hold up as promised
They didn’t meet my expectations. The pads yellowed quickly and didn’t perform consistently.

Saved my nose from irritation
A real lifesaver when my glasses were pressing and irritating my nose — these relieved the pressure and made wearing them much more comfortable.

Strong grip but adhesive fails in heat
They grip very well, but the adhesive is a gel that softens in high temperatures. In summer heat it can ooze out from under the pad and eventually the pads stop holding; a stronger heat-resistant adhesive would improve them.

Good fix for sliding glasses
Simple and effective solution for a slipping pair. They adhere well and even stay put on sport-style frames.

Useful but short-lived on problem frames
I moved from small wire frames to large plastic ones with loose temples, so my glasses slide constantly. These helped a lot, but I’m on my third installation since they tend to need replacing every couple weeks. I clean the nose area with alcohol and apply with tweezers for best placement.
