JVR Automatic Chicken Coop Door — Timer, Anti-Pinch, Aluminum Lock
Product description
What you get: a pre-wired weatherproof control box with LCD timer, the anodized aluminum sliding door and frame, a rust-resistant screw-rod actuator, mounting hardware, a full-size paper template, step-by-step photo instructions, and access to a QR-code video for guided installation.
Timer & scheduling: the built-in LCD controller is programmable down to the exact minute for morning open and evening close. A manual override button on the unit lets you open or shut the door instantly without changing the programmed schedule.
Hen safety: the unit includes an ultra-sensitive pressure/obstruction sensor that monitors the doorway during each closing cycle and reverses motion within roughly 0.5 seconds if a bird is detected, preventing pinching or trapping.
Predator protection: the sliding panel is a solid, anodized aluminum door sized to fit an 11" x 12" opening and is driven by an industrial screw-rod actuator that seats firmly into its track. The mechanism locks in place like a deadbolt to resist persistent raccoons, foxes, and opossums.
Power & memory: the control board retains timer settings and the last door position during power interruptions, so normal operation resumes when mains power returns. The system runs on standard household 120V and includes a clearly labeled manual override for one-button operation.
Installation: designed for true DIY—most users finish in about 60 minutes. The kit is plug-and-play with pre-wired components, a mounting template that prints at 1:1 scale, and illustrated instructions. It fits wood, metal, and plastic coops and requires no specialist tools or an electrician for typical installs.
Durability: electronics are housed in a sealed, weatherproof control box to repel rain, dust, and humidity. The anodized door and rust-proof actuator are built to function across a wide temperature range (tested for summer heat and cold conditions) without warping or jamming.
Support: technical help is available by email from product specialists, typically responding within 24 hours to questions about setup, programming, or repairs.

Long-term reliability and excellent support
I’ve had this coop door for years and it’s been dependable. When a timer issue popped up, customer support (James) responded quickly with clear troubleshooting steps and got everything running again. Good to see ongoing support years after purchase.

Missing part on arrival
Sadly, the package arrived without the lifting motor. Very disappointing to receive an incomplete kit.

Big, tough, and quick support when needed
Perfect for heavier birds — extra-large opening and a sturdy metal drive arm. Installation and programming were straightforward. When it failed to open one weekend, tech support replied within hours and helped diagnose the power supply; in my case rats chewed the cable. Easy fix, excellent guidance.

Quality build and helpful support
Solid metal door that reliably opens on schedule and keeps predators out. My only failures were from my own poor installation choices — a too-wide opening and a stray board that eventually stressed the motor. After correcting the installation the unit worked like new. Check your fitment occasionally.

Sturdy, straightforward, and repairable
Simple and effective. This door does its job without flashy features that fail on farms. It survived subzero Midwest winters and stays sealed. If anything goes wrong, the wiring and components are accessible so you can diagnose and replace parts yourself—no proprietary traps. Very rugged so far.

Fast install and useful features
Installation was quick using the 1:1 template — I cut a 12" x 11" opening and had it mounted in under 20 minutes. Programming is simple, the door runs slowly and safely for birds, and the manual mode is handy for cleaning or coop work.

Works well but programming can trip you up
The door performed consistently until I reprogrammed it after unplugging. The programming interface isn’t the most intuitive, and fumbling with the controls led to problems until I found the original instructions. The issue was user error, but it’s a reminder to record your settings before making changes.
