JMGO N1S 4K Upgrade Triple-Laser Home Projector with Google TV
Product description
Immersive 4K and HDR10 playback: The JMGO N1S 4K Upgrade projects up to 4K UHD resolution with HDR10 support for deeper contrast and richer tones. The engine reproduces over a billion colors and is tuned for large-scale images up to roughly 200 inches, making it suitable for living-room screens and outdoor movie nights.
Triple-RGB laser and color performance: Inside is MALC 3.0 pure RGB triple-laser illumination, which forgoes a color wheel to reduce rainbow artifacts and improve color purity. JMGO rates the coverage at around 110% BT.2020 and roughly 151% of DCI-P3, producing saturated, accurate hues. The light engine claims around 1700 ISO lumens brightness and supports 1.07 billion colors for detailed gradients.
Mechanics, audio and materials: The chassis houses dual 10W speakers with Dolby processing for a fuller on-board soundstage. The unit weighs about 4.4 lbs and includes an integrated adjustable gimbal with roughly 127° of vertical motion so the projector can be tilted and positioned without extra hardware. The housing is finished in a robust plastic and metal mix that balances portability and durability.
Included items and connectivity: In the box you get the projector, a Bluetooth remote, power cable, quick start guide, and a protective EPP hard-shell carry case. Inputs include HDMI 2.1 for 4K60 and gaming, and the platform supports Google Cast, Google Assistant voice control, and an officially licensed Netflix app via Google TV. The MT9629 chipset and MEMC help keep motion smooth while a quoted ultra-low latency (around 17 ms) suits gaming.
Smart focus, eye safety and practical use: The N1S 4K Upgrade offers real-time autofocus, auto keystone correction, and a FlexiSmart Adaptive System 2.0 that reduces laser output when people or pets move near the beam. Users can mount it on a 1/4-20 tripod thread or use the built-in gimbal for ceiling or shelf placement. For best sharpness, adjust keystone correction before fine-tuning the focus wheel; a troubleshooting guide and 24/7 support are available for color or tint recalibration.
Power and efficiency: The projector consumes modest power for its class (user reports around 63W in typical use), and its compact footprint plus carry case make it straightforward to transport for travel, presentations, or backyard cinema sessions.
Pros
- Pure RGB triple-laser yields vivid, accurate colors
- Portable with integrated gimbal and 1/4-20 mount
- Google TV with native streaming apps and voice control
Cons
- Performance drops in partially lit rooms for some users
- Some units may need color calibration out of the box
- Potential light spill / halo reported by multiple owners
VerdictThe N1S 4K Upgrade combines vivid pure-RGB laser color, real-time autofocus, and an easy Google TV ecosystem into a compact body. It’s excellent for dark-room movie nights and flexible mounting, but some users report calibration, brightness in bright rooms, and light spill concerns. Overall, it’s a powerful, portable home projector that balances image fidelity, convenience, and mobility.

Solid laser option for dim rooms
Simple and effective: bright, lightweight, with reliable autofocus and auto keystone. Best used in dark or very dimly lit spaces where the colors and contrast can shine.

Not as flawless as marketing suggests
My main issues are: it’s dim enough to need a very dark room for comfortable viewing, I experienced rainbow-like artifacts that bothered my eyes, and the factory color calibration was off. Sound is underwhelming compared with even small portable speakers and the UI felt slower than my TV. On the positive side it’s well-built, compact, includes a case, and autofocus/auto-keystone work reliably. Power draw is low, so portable battery setups are feasible.

Easy setup and excellent visuals
Setup was straightforward thanks to the built-in gimbal, autofocus, and auto keystone. Triple-laser tech delivers vibrant colors and crisp detail. The onboard speaker is clear but could use more volume for large rooms. Including a hard-shell case makes transporting it simple—I’d rate it a 9/10.

Worth saving for over cheap alternatives
This unit vastly outperformed the inexpensive LED projectors I tried. It’s compact but powerful, the image lock-in and gimbal make placement effortless, and the sound punches above its size. If you can stretch to this model, it’s a noticeable step up from $200 class units.

Frustrating light spill and return hassles
My first unit had a pronounced halo of light outside the image. Customer service suggested returning and reordering to get an updated batch; the replacement improved but still showed a visible spill under darker scenes. While the image quality is good, that lower-edge light leak is distracting and undermines immersion. Communication about hardware revisions felt unclear and disappointing.

Finally the sweet spot I was hoping for
I’d returned an earlier JMGO model and swore off the brand, but the spec sheet on this one drew me back. After a week it’s been a great all-around performer: punchy brightness (roughly 1100 ISO lumens in my tests), compact size comparable to other small portables, and a 1/4-20 thread for tripod or ceiling mounts. Native Google TV with a licensed Netflix app is a huge convenience for straight 4K streaming. Audio is respectable for built-in speakers, and portability makes it easy to move between rooms.

Compact form, cinematic results
I thought a 75" TV was the max for my wall, but this made movie nights feel much grander. The pure RGB laser brings out textures and subtle color detail—night scenes and rain effects look particularly dimensional. The gimbal makes positioning simple, so moving it around for different viewing angles is effortless.

Impressively responsive first 4K projector
This was my first 4K projector and I’m very happy. Powering on is nearly instant compared with older devices, autofocus and automatic keystone save setup time, and the Bluetooth remote is convenient. It’s bright enough for bedroom use at its lowest setting and the included carrying case is a nice touch. Audio is fine for casual listening and the unit handles ceiling projections well.

Perfect for cozy movie nights
For cinematic evenings at home this projector delivers the color depth I care about. The triple-laser system and wide BT.2020 gamut make films pop, and the high contrast preserves shadow detail. Daytime viewing through my floor-to-ceiling windows still works reasonably well at around 1100 ISO lumens when I lower ambient light. Overall the image clarity and color fidelity are what sold me.
