Galvanized Fluke Anchor (8–13 lb) for Pontoons, Deck & Fishing Boats
Product description
One single fluke-style anchor is supplied; choose from 8 lb, 10 lb, or 13 lb options. The listed 8 lb unit measures approximately 19.75" x 14.5" x 4.5".
Made from hot-dipped galvanized steel, the anchor is finished to resist corrosion and comes with welded joints intended to provide structural strength. The thorough galvanizing aims to protect the metal and extend service life.
This style is aimed at boats in the roughly 12–22 ft range — pontoons, small deck boats, fishing skiffs and some sailboats. It performs particularly well in sand and is suitable for river or light current fishing when set properly.
For dependable holding, pair the anchor with several feet of chain (about 4–5 ft) between the anchor and the rope/rode and deploy as your primary or backup anchor. Many users recommend carrying two anchors and using chain plus line for secure anchoring.
Pros
- Durable hot-dip galvanized finish
- Strong holding in sand and common lake bottoms
- Well-welded, heavy-duty construction
Cons
- Larger and heavier than some users need
- Occasional sharp spot at the chain attachment
- Some units may show excess pivot play
VerdictA rugged, hot-dipped galvanized fluke anchor that delivers strong holding power for small craft and pontoons. Construction and coating are generally solid, and it sets reliably in sand and most lake bottoms. It can feel bulky and heavier than some users expect, and a small finish flaw or extra pivot play can appear on rare units. Use 4–5 ft of chain between the anchor and the rode for best results

Heavy-duty and reliable
A solid, hot-galvanized unit that feels built to last. Slightly larger than I need, but I trust it won't let me down and should endure for years.

Exceptional holding
Holds our 22' boat in any wind and on every bottom we've tried. A bit bulky and heavy, but not an issue. Use about 4–5 ft of chain to the rode and it performs superbly!

Neat finish and sturdy build
Welding and finishing are clean, with burrs and seams well addressed. A well-made anchor — remember to carry two with chain and line.

Matches photo, minor flaw
Bought the 13 lb as a secondary anchor. Looks like the one we already trust — welds and coating are solid. There is a small sharp point at the chain eye that could cut skin, so be cautious. Pivot movement seems generous; real-world use will tell.
