Franklin Sports Portable Backyard Croquet Set — 4/6-Player Lawn Game
Product description
This portable croquet set arrives as a full kit ready for backyard play. Included are four colored, all-weather croquet balls designed for repeated outdoor use, nine all-weather steel wickets for laying out your course, and two 18" wooden scoring stakes to keep track of points.
The mallets come as four wooden handles with two shorter (24") and two longer (26") shafts; mallet heads attach to the handles and lock in place for quick assembly. The components are intended to be made from a mix of wood and steel materials to balance traditional styling with outdoor durability.
Everything is packed in a cardboard box with plastic wrapping on individual pieces, so no separate storage case is provided unless you reuse the box. The set is designed for family gatherings and casual lawn matches—set up a recommended pattern or let players design their own course for a more creative game.
Assembly is straightforward: secure the mallet heads to the handles, insert the wickets into the ground to form a course, and place the scoring stakes at either end. The kit aims to offer easy setup and immediate play for children and adults alike.

Complete failure
All the mallets broke the first time we used them. Do not recommend.

Disappointing construction
I returned it because stakes were missing, but I would've returned it for quality anyway. Only the sticks seem truly wooden; the mallet heads look like plastic. It appears attractive in pictures but plays like a cheap toy and feels likely to fail.

Acceptable for casual play
Okay for casual use. It does what it’s meant to if you’re not expecting durability.

Terrible durability
Would give zero stars if possible. Three mallets broke within minutes of playing. Pieces flew off and it felt unsafe. I won’t buy this brand again.

Nostalgic and enjoyable
Took me back to childhood. It arrived with all parts needed and was fun to play. Felt a bit flimsy at first but loosened up after a few rounds. Overall entertaining.

Extremely flimsy
Two of the four mallets broke during our first game. They feel like a very light composite rather than solid wood. Complete waste if you want sturdier gear.

Great for getting grandkids outside
Bought this to entertain the grandkids and it worked well. We let them design the course, it survived two rowdy boys and adults, and the kids kept asking to play again.

Breaks easily
Poor-quality materials. Parts are easily broken after minimal use.

Screen-free family fun
My 7-year-old grandson loves it—delivered for his birthday and the whole family enjoyed playing together.

Not built for rough kids
My kids are not gentle and these didn’t hold up long. They remained usable for a while but showed wear quickly.

Starter set with low craftsmanship
Good for passing time during lockdown and learning the rules. Everything shipped in a cardboard box with plastic wrap and no case. One stick broke after a few normal games, so don’t expect rugged construction. Still fine for casual lessons and play.
