Dorai Home Diatomaceous Earth Stone Bath Mat — 23.6" x 15"
Product description
The stone bath mat is constructed from diatomaceous earth bonded with recycled paper to form a ceramic-like board that feels like natural stone. The standard size shown is 23.6" x 15", and the design line is offered in multiple neutral shades such as Rain Sandstone, Rain Slate, Zen Sandstone, and Zen Slate.
Included in the package are the stone mat itself, a thin rubberized anti-slip pad to place between the stone and floor, and a small sheet of sandpaper for removing stains or scuffs. The underside rubber pad is thin but provides grip so the stone stays put on wet tile or wood floors.
The diatomaceous earth composition soaks up water quickly—manufacturers report it can absorb well beyond its own weight and leave the surface dry in seconds as moisture evaporates. The board is engineered to lie flat without bowing for long-term use and to replace traditional fabric bath rugs where moisture and mildew are a concern.
Care involves avoiding shoes and spills of dark liquids that may stain. To treat marks or surface scuffs, moisten the stone base and gently sand the affected area with the included sandpaper in a ventilated space, then allow the piece to fully dry. This product is not recommended for marble floors due to potential abrasion or marking.
Pros
- Rapid moisture absorption
- Stable, low-profile design
- Made from recycled and non-toxic materials
Cons
- Feels hard underfoot
- Fragile if dropped or struck
- Light colors show dirt more easily
VerdictThis diatomaceous earth stone mat delivers rapid absorption and a stable, low-profile surface that stays dry far longer than fabric mats. It’s sturdy, eco-minded in construction, and includes a slim rubberized pad to prevent slipping. The surface can feel firm underfoot and needs careful handling to avoid chips, but for those who prioritize quick-drying hygiene and a minimalist look, it’s a solid

Unfussy and effective
Took some getting used to not stepping on plush material, but the fast absorption is impressive. I bought one for every shower—very tidy.

Nice upgrade for our bathroom
Stable, fast-drying, and had minimal odor out of the box. The underlay prevents slipping and the regular size fit well where I expected.

Really performs after a remodel
Installed it after updating my bathroom and it dries quickly after use without becoming slick. No odors so far; I’d recommend it.

Works well but cleaning is a chore
Absorbs effectively and looks sharp, yet the lighter tones collect dirt quickly and the porous surface takes effort to scrub clean.

High quality — genuine material
I researched a lot before buying and this one has had no off-gassing or cracking. After almost a year it still soaks up water quickly and dries within minutes between showers. When my dog had an accident I followed manufacturer cleaning tips and got it handled without damage.

Works great and stays tidy
Performs as advertised — instantly dries and hair doesn’t stick. Simple to maintain so far.

Absorbs well, wish it were bigger
Low profile so it doesn’t catch doors, very absorbent and easy to rinse. I would have preferred a slightly larger size for the footprint.

Missing part caused trouble
My first purchase arrived without the thin non-slip pad, so the stone sat unevenly and made a loud noise on tile. A second order included the pad, which leveled it out. Seems like a packaging oversight rather than a product flaw.

Eco-friendly look with trade-offs
I swapped to a diatomite mat for a cleaner, greener option. It absorbs fast and looks sleek, but it is quite firm and can chip if mishandled. Easy upkeep overall; I give it four stars for function and design.

Honestly changed our routine
After using this for nearly a year I’m sold. The stone pulls moisture away so there’s less mildew and mold compared with fabric mats. Feet dry almost instantly and it feels like they seal to the surface. The thin rubber pad underneath helps prevent slipping; glad it’s included.

Feels almost magical
A bit expensive but truly impressive how it absorbs water.
